Marquesa Marine Professional Series Push Pole
The Marquesa Marine Professional Series push pole is an extremely stiff and lightweight pole designed to perform from shallow bonefish flats to deep water tarpon spots and everything in between. The only pole on the market that is stiffer than the Professional Series is our Master Series available here. We developed the Professional Series push pole alongside our Master Series as a lighter weight option with a minimal loss of stiffness. The Professional Series push pole has a textured surface for increased grip. We recommend breaking in all of our push poles with gloves for the first few trips.
Tubing and Production Method
The Marquesa Marine Professional Series push pole is assembled from vertically cured high modulus carbon fiber tubing. We construct our push poles from three sections because it allows us to cure the tubing at high temperature in a vertical orientation rather than a horizontal orientation typical of one-piece push poles. One piece push poles are plagued by flat spots, uneven wall thicknesses, and inconsistencies that result from horizontal curing. The Marquesa Marine Professional Series push pole is bonded using a high temperature, aerospace grade structural adhesive for the ferrules and a specialty nylon adhesive for the foot and tip to create a permanent one-piece assembly.
Foot and Tips
The Marquesa Marine push pole foot is the result of countless prototypes and years of on the water experience. Made from fiberglass reinforced nylon, the foot is designed to enter and exit the water quietly. It is small and lightweight, but it has a contact face that maximizes surface area to reduce sinking in soft bottom. The back of the bridge is shaped to cut its way out of soft bottom for easier removal. The internal section of the foot is designed to provide maximum holding power and strength at a minimum weight. An O-ring seal is used to perfectly center the foot during bonding and create a dam against which the adhesive can make a 100% waterproof seal over the sealing section. Below the sealing section are three rings that hold adhesive for additional bonding strength.
The Marquesa Marine push pole tip is available in two versions: the standard nylon tip and the threaded tip. Each tip uses the same internal section as our push pole foot to create a strong and waterproof bond. The threaded tip accepts multiple metal points.
Push Pole Points
Marquesa Marine push pole points are available in 4 different sizes to best fit your poling environment. We machine each of our titanium points out of grade 5 titanium to minimize weight while maximizing corrosion resistance and strength. Our non slip point is machined out of 316 stainless steel. A full inch of 3/8-16 threads on all of our points ensure a strong connection with our fiberglass reinforced nylon push pole tips. Please refer to the chart below for the lengths of each of our push pole points. Please click here to add a metal point to your order.
Length
Our listed push pole lengths are the actual length of the carbon fiber push pole tubing not including the foot and tip. Including the foot and tip our poles are 6” longer than the listed length. A 24-foot push pole will measure 24’6” when fully assembled.
Weight
Carbon fiber has very little variation in density across different moduli (stiffnesses), this means that a lightweight push pole simply has less material in it regardless of the type of carbon fiber used. We have designed our carbon fiber lamination schedules to be the perfect balance of stiffness, strength, and weight for the intended applications. Please see the chart below for the weights of the Professional Series push pole in different configurations.
Delivery
Marquesa Marine offers a flat rate delivery of $30 within 30 days to any address in Florida. For customers outside of Florida please call or email us to discuss delivery options for full length poles. Note: UPS delivery is only available for built-to-ship kits, see below for more information.
Built-to-ship Kits
All Marquesa Marine push poles are available in kits that can be shipped anywhere in the country via UPS ground for reasonable rates. These kits include instructions and everything needed to finish assembly of your push pole except for a solvent like acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Built-to-ship push poles 22 feet and under will ship with the foot, tip, and ferrules pre bonded in the tubes. Built-to-ship 23-foot push poles will ship with just the ferrules pre-bonded in the tubes. Built-to-ship 24-foot push poles will ship as a kit without any components pre-bonded. Final assembly is simple and should take about 15 minutes for poles 23 feet and under and about 30 minutes over two days for 24-foot poles. Note: To select the built-to-ship option, simply choose UPS shipping at checkout.
